TEDxDharavi is an independently organized TED event operated
under the license from TED. Like all TEDx
events, this event also focuses on bringing people together on a common platform, make connections and share knowledge on the
relevant topic of discussion.
The main idea behind TEDxDharavi has been to bring forth the unheard stories and hidden inspirational
innovations burgeoning inside one of Asia’s largest slum area - Dharavi (Mumbai, India).
The theme for TEDxDharavi revolves around Reimagine, Redefine:
Reimagine Dharavi - for the immense potential and productivity that this resource-constrained area has been able to generate for years, not just in India but across countries.
And Redefine Dharavi - with the new breed of denizens who, inspite all odds, intend to make a significant change and difference for their fellow-inhabitants and for the country at large.
At TEDxDharavi, we aspire and make an attempt to invite such famous innovators and speakers, from different walks of life, to uncover the amazing ideas, the impact it had and their inspirational journey that originates from the trailing lanes of Dharavi.
I just wanted to thank you all for pulling off such an awesome event. Everything was just perfect, from the
choice of venue to the speaker line-up to every small detail (signboards, notices, event flow, audience management,
volunteers.. everything right down to liquid soap in and hand sanitizer ... you guys thought of everything!)
Congratulations on all of this and everything else that must have happened behind the scenes and it was indeed an honour to be invited to speak at such a thoughtfully and well-managed event.
Speaker, KHEL Project
Beautiful Beautiful people of TEDxDharavi,
Where do I start? 5th of February, 2017 will be remembered by me and I am sure by all others who were in attendance as the day change and hope were seen in action. The way you curated the entire event and made everything seem so calm and well managed was especially inspiring for an event of this scale. I am also humbled and inspired by the kindness and professionalism exhibited by each one in your team. I have absolutely no doubt that TEDxDharavi will be remembered for long as an event where conscious people from all around gathered to exchange ideas that were indeed worth spreading. I thank you and send you greetings and best wishes for many more events such as this.

I really had awesome experience. Inspired to do more
Very unique list of speakers. A very innovative way of showcasing Dharavi, the people who live there, their aspirations, their struggles and their achievements. There is more to Dharavi than being the “Biggest slum in Asia”
Senior Manager, Sanofi
This is an outstanding initiative taken by you. Dharavi TEDx is a pioneering event and you played an important role in organizing the event. This brought many issues on the forefront and the role played by many of the speakers and organization to bring about change. Indeed an inspiring experience.

Thanks for the fabulous event guys. Lovely working with you. One attendee told me “I’m going back a changed person”. I think summarises what you guys worked so hard for.
